Overeating at dinner time? Try this simple habit

Have you ever sat down for dinner feeling absolutely starving, only to eat more than you should have?

You might feel bloated, heavy, and frustrated with yourself for overeating — even beating yourself up afterward.

Feeling this way isn’t good for you physically or mentally, and as you’d know, overeating regularly can lead to weight gain.

Here’s one simple habit I recommend to help you stop overeating at dinner:

Have a salad before your meal.

It takes the edge off your hunger and gives your body nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and fibre that naturally help curb your appetite.

If you’re short on time, munch on a carrot or a vegetable of your choice while cooking — same effect, less effort.

On a personal note, I’ve found this makes a huge difference. I love food, and having a salad first helps curb my appetite so I don’t overeat.

Of course, lasting weight loss doesn’t come from one single habit. It’s the small, consistent habits you build each day that create real change.

This is one of those habits that helps you feel more in control at dinner and sets the tone for other healthy choices to follow.

Over time, these small shifts add up — helping you not just lose weight, but maintain it in a way that feels sustainable and kind to your body.
