Don’t Make the Mistake That Left Me Starving and Bloated

I want to share a mistake I made when I was younger — one that left me starving, uncomfortable, and incredibly bloated.

I used to buy a salad sandwich on wholegrain bread for lunch.

It was packed with salad, and because I wanted to maintain my weight, I genuinely thought it was the right choice.

But not long after eating it, I was hungry again, and shortly after that my stomach felt tight, uncomfortable, and bloated.

The simple mistake? Thinking that leaving fat out of my sandwich would help me lose or maintain my weight.

Our bodies need good-quality fats such as avocado, almonds, and flaxseed oil to feel satisfied, support digestion, and function well.

When I corrected the mistake and started adding avocado to my salad sandwich, everything changed.

I stayed satisfied, the bloating disappeared, I felt better overall — and I didn’t gain weight. In fact, my skin looked a lot better for it.

It’s interesting how we can build habits that seem like they are the right choice but actually leave us feeling worse.

Building the right habits around healthy fats can make a huge difference — helping you feel satisfied, support digestion, and enjoy your food without the stress of constant hunger.
